Summary
Prompted by the revision of the Federal Rules of Evidence resulting out of the Evidence Rules Restyling Project, the authors (professors of Law from U. of Kansas, Fordham U., and George Washington U. and a US District Court Judge) present the fourth edition of their text on the presentation and contestation of evidence in trials in the US legal system. They stress the art of objection and argument over evidentiary points by including a large number of transcript style problems in which lawyers present evidence and argue evidentiary points, and a trial judge is called on to rule (including, for this edition, editorial comments concerning restyling in the many cases that were decided before the restyled rules of evidence went into effect). They also include a side-by-side introduction to the old and new rules of evidence, together with committee notes and observations from two of the authors who were personally involved with the restyling project, as well as extensive excerpts from the Federal Rules of Evidence Manual.
