Summary
This program shows how a nation-wide campaign of civil disobedience, campus protest and finally legislative action, spearheaded by African American leaders spawned by the Civil Rights Movement, reversed American foreign policy toward South Africa in the face of the most right wing administration in our history. The film provides an inspiring civics lesson in how a grassroots movement can place an issue onto the national agenda, force its coverage by the mainstream media and eventually triumph over the most powerful and entrenched institutions in our society: corporations, the universities and even the federal government
